James sees individuals and couples at his private practice locations in Brookhaven and Sandy Springs. He was previously a therapist at both the Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders (ACE) and Care and Counseling Center of Georgia, having been instrumental in launching several group therapy options at these centers. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University with top honors and is a member of the American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota International Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. James is licensed in the state of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor ID# LPC009891.
James especially enjoys building relationships with LGBTQI clients. As a gay man in Atlanta who survived “coming out” as a young adult , he can identify with LGBTQ+ culture while providing genuine support and guidance. He strives to offer the most safe and affirming space possible for the LGBTQ+ community.
James is active with the LGTBQ community and is a lifetime member of the LGBTQ Therapist Resource Group. He is currently serving as President on the Board of this group. He is also a member of the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in Counseling and the Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
